Aunt
Suzy came to visit me
and brought a ball for me to see.
I took the ball upstairs to play,
I had to try it, right away.
I dropped it on the wooden floor,
then tried it harder, just once more.
Bounced down the steps and where'd it land?
On mother's lovely baby grand!
The round ball made the music stop,
Then hit mom's cake with one loud plop!
Gooey cake flew in the air,
and landed in Aunt Suzy's hair.
She took my ball and said with glee,
"I'll bounce it higher, just watch me!"
She dropped it on the tiled floor,
then watched it fly right out the door.
That ball shot past the upstairs hall,
Then sprang right off my bedroom wall.
Flew out the window, down the slide,
and then my sandbox stopped its ride.
"I'll hide the ball in some deep chest,
So it can take a little rest.
And when Aunt Suzy visits me--
I think we'll play monopoly."

The
Baseball Bully
The Crookham
Cardinals were at bat,
I waited in
left field.
Bubba Smith
smiled from home plate,
“You’ll
lose— your fate is sealed.”
I gulped as
Bubba hit the ball,
and raised my
glove up high.
The ball then
flew right over me—
I opened up my
eyes.
I ran and
grabbed the ball up fast,
And threw with
all my might.
Bubba had just
rounded third,
Home plate was
in his sight.
Bubba Smith
slid into home
just as the
ball flew in.
The umpire
called, “You’re out!”
And the
catcher yelled, “We win!”
The coach then
called right out to me,
"Come on
over here.!"
He handed me
the game ball
And the team
began to cheer.
I laughed and
held my ball up high,
Bubba turned
and looked my way.
He sneered,
but then he smiled and said,
“That was
one amazing play.”
